  “Wrong isn’t the word I would use. How could you do this? With him….” Andy shook his head, taking a step back and out of the office. I hadn’t been anxious about telling him in three days because as soon as I touched Audrey, I knew I would have to tell him. I wanted her more than once and there was no going back.

  "We're going to be together, Andy…" I dared him to try and take her from me. There was nothing that could come between her and me, not if I was breathing. I wanted to get to know her better, delve deeper into her soul, and I wouldn't be able to do that if he tried to ruin whatever it was we had, before it started.

  Andy took another step back until he was nearly out of the room. "She's my daughter, Briggs, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters to me.
